HISTORY OF THE JANE AUSTEN SOCIETY OF WINNIPEG

WHO WE ARE

We are the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) Manitoba: Winnipeg Region.  Anyone of high school age or older interested in the life and works of Jane Austen is welcome to join. Our local group is a happily  eclectic  one of Jane Austen lovers: knowledgeable readers from all walks of life who join on equal terms to study, celebrate and appreciate the works, life and times of our favorite author.

We represent many different professions. At our meetings you will meet an engineer, a chiropractor, a lab technician, a librarian, a physics professor, a social worker, an English teacher.

We represent a varied age spectrum. Our oldest member is over ninety.  We have a young mother, young working women, sometimes teenagers like to join us. We welcome men and women.

Our local coordinator is  Lorna Pyrih
