As with any large group, the members of JASNA Manitoba: Winnipeg Region have varied Jane-related interests.  From time to time we will post the results of their endeavours.

Jane has famously wrote in Pride and Prejudice, “We are each of an unsocial, taciturn disposition, unwilling to speak, unless we expect to say something that will amaze the whole room, and be handed down to posterity with all the eclat of a proverb.”  We find, however that her greatest insights are arrived at through observation of small things and quirks of personality that serve to bring colour and dimension to life.  It is how each of our members as individuals see Jane Austen's world that gives the rest of us an increasingly more complete understanding of her stories.  What they notice, what resonates with them often collectively "amaze(s) the whole room..."
