Murray Alexander's Nostalgic Visit With Jane

Here are a few photos from my visit today (July 7, 2026) to Chawton (Jane Austen House; Chawton House, including St Nicholas Church)

 

 

 

 

​I visited Winchester today (July 6, 2026). Such a beautiful city, and it must've felt so peaceful for Jane in the last 8 weeks of her life. I walked the route of her funeral procession, from 8 College St. to the cathedral. Two doors from 8 College St. is Jane's favourite bookshop: P & G Wells (John  Burdon in her time, but essentially unchanged since Jane's time).
